Prefects

Prefects will be chosen one month after the start of the school year. Students in fourth grade or above can become a prefect. Only one student per House will be chosen each year. Students can lose their role as prefect if they do not adhere to their responsiblities or take advantage of their position.

 

Prefects are expected to: â€‹

  • show academic and behavioral excellence, leading by example

  • have a good attendance record; prefects cannot be tardy

  • respect and uphold the school's Code of Conduct at all times

  • be dressed appropriately at all time; prefects must wear their badge that distinguishes their office at all times

  • be punctual for duties and attend all prefect meetings

  • be positive and enthusiatic, encouraging and motivating fellow students

  • be cooperative, helpful, well-mannered, trustworthy, and responsible

  • be respectful towards teachers, fellow students, and the school environment

  • display the qualities of a leader: confidence, initiative, problem-solving skills

  • be willing to take on extra responsibilities

  • be able to work independently and complete tasks without supervision

  • carry out taks and jobs as given by teachers without complaint

  • attend all school events and activities, when required, and be expected to help and lead

Prefects will also have special privileges, including a prefect-only outing at the end of each term.
