Anneke Linnemeyer

I am a graduate from Metropolitan State University of Denver. In 2012 I left with my B.A. in English and a minor in Studio Painting, only to return three years later to complete the Post-Baccalaureate Elementary Education Licensure Program. While attending university, I also spent four years tutoring children from 1st to 9th grade, as well as giving in-home art lessons. In the 2019-2020 school year I worked as a substitute teacher for the St. Vrain Valley school district and as a lead for the after school program for Flagstaff Academy.

It has been a dream of mine to open my own school and in late 2020 the opportunity arose. With the desire to offer in-person instruction to students who struggled with online learning, Monarch Meadows opened its doors in September 2020. A dream I'd had for many years became a reality in a little over a month and at times I am still astonished it is real. I am so grateful for this opportunity. To go to work each day and to see children of different ages and backgrounds not only learning together, but thriving together has been an immeasurable blessing.  

 

When I am not at school teaching I enjoy spending my time listening to podcasts or taking online classes on various subjects used both in and out of the classroom, including ancient and medieval history, art, Latin, Greek, psychology, traditional logic, mythology, classical literature, the sciences, music, etc. I also like reading, writing, and painting, and when time permits I enjoy hiking and traveling.
